The DOT Bicycle Commuters Group
The US DOT bicycle commuter group formed in October 2007 and includes commuters who bike or walk to DOT Headquarters from all over the greater Washington DC area. The group meets once a month to discuss topics of interest and to develop methods which encourage and promote wider participation in bicycling and walking as modes of transportation.
Mission and Goals
- to share information about commutes with cyclists and other interested parties
- to improve bicycle facilities for people who work at US DOT
If you are interested in joining or finding out more about the group, please contact Gabe Rousseau.
Current Issues:
Bicycle Parking at DOT Headquarters
We are working with DDOT and the Administration to get bike racks installed for visitors on bikes.Construction Obstructions may affect your commute to DOT Headquarters
There is a lot of construction in the vicinity of our building. In some cases this may obstruct a direct route. Where such a disruption is encountered we will document alternative route information on the Local Routes page. The good news is that when all the construction is done we should have new some parks, sidewalks, and architecture to enjoy along our commute.
