GYCC WEED GROUP

Background: The Greater Yellowstone Coordinating Committee (GYCC) was formed between the National Park Service and Forest Service in 1964 through a signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). The GYCC Coordinator is Mary Maj, 406.522.8575. Within the GYCC, the Weed Group includes members from each Greater Yellowstone Area unit, county weed and pest staffs, the Bureau of Land Management along with other State, county and private weed managers working together on common inventories, cooperative weed management areas, development of best management practices, creation of education and information materials and integrated management to prevent and control the spread of noxious weeds. The Weed Work Group's key contact is Kent Houston, Shoshone National Forest, 307.578.1242.
