Description The I-4 Connector is an elevated north-south toll road that will connect I-4 with the Selmon Expressway, two major east-west corridors in the Tampa region. The new roadway will cross several urban streets, State Road 60, and CSX railroad tracks, and include interchanges with I-4 and the Selmon Expressway. The Connector will have exclusive truck lanes to provide direct access to the Port of Tampa and remove commercial traffic from local roads in Ybor City. The project will include an all electronic toll (AET) system.
Cost $402.5 million
Funding Sources

Federal funds: $203 million

ARRA grant - $105 million ($18.2 million for pre-construction support)

State funds: $10 million

Toll revenue bonds: $80 million

Local/toll funds: $22.7 million

Duration/Status Contract was awarded to the PCL/Archer Western on October 30, 2009. Notice to proceed issued March 1, 2010 and construction began the same day. Expected completion is February 2014.
Financial Status Financial close on December 22, 2009. The final payment for the contract is scheduled for April 2017. The private partner's short-term financing is combination of commercial bank debt and equity.
