Sandra A. Garcia received a B.S. and M.S. (Construction Management) in Civil Engineering from the University of New Mexico in 1995 and 1997, respectively. She began her career in the Idaho Division. Sandra says, "The professional development program is flexible enough to expose me to different innovative technologies which allow me to pursue my interests, such as in ITS (Intelligent Transportation Systems). The agency has the ability to recognize and utilize my talents and skills. I especially value the opportunity to travel around the United States, experience new places, give presentations, attend conferences, and work with other FHWA employees."

The Professional Development Program

Career Development

The FHWA Professional Development Program provides approximately two years of entry-level career development. We are looking for college graduates with a bachelor's or master's degree to serve in a variety of disciplines.
