Guides on Intersection Geometrics to Be Rolled Out at Webinars

As part of the Every Day Counts 2 - Intersection & Interchange Geometrics initiative, FHWA has produced a series of four new informational guides. One on the diverging diamond interchange concept, the other three on at-grade designs: displaced left turn, median U-turn and restricted crossing U-turn.

The material in these guides builds upon the related chapters from the 2010 FHWA Alternative Intersections/Interchanges Informational Report, drawing upon additional research, evaluation and experience gained with these designs over the last several years.

To deploy the new guides, two webinars have been scheduled:

Each webinar will consist of a 1-hour presentation followed by up to 30 minutes of Q&A. Connection capacity is limited, and advance registration is required for each. The webinars will be recorded. Because of capacity limitations on the web system, individuals are asked to view the webinars in groups (using a single connection) as much as possible.

The new guides will be available to download in PDF format during the webinars and will be posted on the FHWA web pages soon after. These webinars will not eligible for CEU/PDH licensure or certification requirements. Questions? Contact Jeff Shaw at Jeffrey.Shaw@dot.gov
