Attached is a table that shows the FY 1999 Discretionary Bridge Program allocations. The available funds this year were allocated to three continuing projects from previous years, one Olympic cities project, three seismic retrofit projects, and four new-start projects. In addition, FY 1998 funds were allocated to the Golden Gate Bridge.

FY 1999 requests for discretionary bridge funds were received for 53 non-seismic candidates for a total of $1.040 billion and from 13 seismic retrofit candidates for a total of $94.9 million. Only the Golden Gate Bridge qualified for FY 1998 funding. A total of $108,989,750 of Discretionary Bridge Program Funds was allocated to the States.
