Structural Materials Technology (SMT): NDE/NDT For Highways and Bridges 2004

ASNT is pleased to invite papers for a special conference promoting the exchange of information among researchers, practitioners and infrastructure owners on the application of NDE/NDT technologies for the condition assessment of the highways and bridges.

This conference will educate state transportation officials, consultants and contractors on the state-of-the-art in NDE/NDT methods and emerging research. The conference will also discuss issues facing NDE/NDT practitioners, researchers and state transportation agencies.

Submission Deadline 27 February 2004

Speakers will be allowed 30 minutes for presentation, including questions and answers.

Authors are encouraged to focus on the application of their technology to real-world situations rather than numerical modeling or analytical procedures.

Abstract Submission

Prospective authors are requested to submit abstracts of approximately 200 words on all NDT methods. The preferred method of submission is via the ASNT Web site at www.asnt.org/events/events.htm

Submission Process

Abstracts will be reviewed by the program chairs and placed in the program. Authors will be informed of acceptance by 30 March 2004, and a speaker packet with further instructions will be mailed shortly following.

Conference Proceedings

Paper summaries will be distributed to attendees at the conference. Authors whose abstracts have been approved for presentation must submit a paper summary (eight-page maximum including photos and illustrations) by 28 May 2004. Abstracts should be submitted as an electronic file with a printed hardcopy (hardcopy alone is acceptable) in 12 point Times New Roman, single space, 1-1/4" margins.

Authors are encouraged to submit full papers for publication in Materials Evaluation.

ASNT will not reproduce material in any format, including abstracts, summaries, and technical papers, without a signed transfer of copyright from the author to the American Society for Nondestructive Testing, Inc.

ASNT discourages excessive use of trade names, company identifications or product names in oral and visual presentations, including abstract and paper summaries book.
