Note: The latest developments in the AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications related to the design of straight steel I-section flexural members for bridges will be discussed, and the workshop will include the U.S. Department of Transportation perspective on the application of new specifications that have been recently adopted for the design of these members. The workshop will illustrate the basic application of the new provisions to the design of two example straight continuous-span steel I-girder bridge superstructures.
