Advancing Future Transportation with Breakthrough Innovations

Proposals for Exploratory Advanced Research

FHWA issued a Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) for the Exploratory Advanced Research Program, soliciting for high-risk, high-payoff research and innovations to solve critical highway challenges. The BAA is officially located on the FedBizOpps Web site. Details for responding to the BAA are included in the Proposer Information Packet (PIP) located on this site. For questions and answers about the PIP, review the FAQs.

Workshop Summaries

Between July and October 2005, HRTC held a series of think tank forums bringing together a cross-section of stakeholders and partners to make recommendations for a corporate, strategic FHWA Advanced Research agenda. Three think tanks were organized to explore future advanced research possibilities within a set of domains relevant to the mission of FHWA. Close to 100 participants representing Federal, State and local government, research organizations, industry and academia were in attendance and contributed to the development of a future FHWA advanced research agenda. A number of options to manage and administer selected focus areas will be presented for consideration by the R&T Leadership Team.
