Description
The Ferry Boat Discretionary (FBD) Program is authorized by 23 U.S.C. § 147, and has been reauthorized and continued through March 31, 2012. The purpose of the program is to construct ferry boat and ferry terminal facilities.
Entities Eligible to Apply for Funding
States, ferry systems, and other public entities responsible for developing ferry facilities are eligible for FBD discretionary grants. Eligible public entities must submit their application through their State transportation agency.

*Note: Actual amount available for award subject to full year program authority and appropriations, reduction pending final obligation limitation distribution, and lop-off calculation.
