National Scenic Byways Program

This collection of information is voluntary and will be used to determine eligibility of projects for possible Federal funding. Public reporting burden is estimated to average 16 hours per response, including the time for reviewing instructions, searching existing data sources, gathering and maintaining the data needed, and completing and reviewing the collection of information. Description

The National Scenic Byways Program (NSBP) is authorized by 23 U.S.C. § 162, and has been reauthorized and continued through March 31, 2012. The NSBP recognizes roads having outstanding scenic, historic, cultural, natural, recreational, and archaeological qualities. NSBP funding supports projects that manage and protect these intrinsic qualities, interpret these qualities for visitors, and improve visitor facilities along byways.

Entities Eligible to Apply for Funding

States and Indian Tribes are eligible to apply for funding under the NSBP.
