Las Vegas Wash Countermeasures Design AbstractBy: Larry A. Arneson, Ph.D., P.E.
The Las Vegas Wash is degrading at a phenomenal rate which is impacting a scour critical bridge over the wash. In addition, a recently constructed dam and reservoir upstream of the bridge adds an additional degree of complexity to the solution of the problem. An in-depth analysis was performed to determine the best and most cost effective countermeasures to stabilize the wash and protect the bridge. The presentation will discuss the hydrologic and hydraulic analysis and present the countermeasures being considered. |
