HYDRAINJoseph Krolak The HYDRAIN suite of programs provides federal, state, and private hydraulic practitioners with a non-proprietary means to design and analyze highway drainage structures. From the original concept of shared variable, mainframe programs to the most recent evolutionary stage, this paper reviews the nearly twenty-year history of this suite of programs. Also investigated is the status of current FHWA sponsored HYDRAIN related activities and development. Finally, the author describes potential future activities and issues related to both short term and long term HYDRAIN development and system applicability. |
