Alaska's Experience with Scour Instrumentation in Remote Location

With the assistance of FHWA's Demonstration Project 97 (DP97) "Scour Monitoring and Instrumentation", Alaska Department of Transportation constructed a scour monitoring station at a remote site to test a number of telemetry and instrument options. A case study of the design process, construction, operation and lessons learned will be presented.
