HY-8 7.1 represents the second phase of the FHWA's multi-phase culvert hydraulic software upgrade plan. The plan calls for incremental upgrades and additions of features, based on available time, budget, and adoption of new hydraulic practices and techniques. The next phase includes additions of new hydraulic jump, broken back, adverse slope algorithms, as well as new shapes, and other enhancements.
