2016 (Round 1) AFC Federal Register Notice: On July 22, 2016 a Federal Register Notice(FRN) was published announcing the request for the first round of Alternative Fuel Corridor designations. The resulting designations were announced in November 2016.
DOE Alternative Fuel Data Center (AFDC) The U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) Alternative Fuels Data Center (AFDC) is a comprehensive clearinghouse of information about advanced transportation technologies. The AFDC offers transportation decision makers unbiased information, data, and tools related to the deployment of alternative fuels and advanced vehicles. It is also home to the Alternative Fueling Station Locator, which allows users to search and locate alternative fueling stations across the United States and Canada. This tool also allows users to map a travel route, or to filter by fuel type.
AFDC Alternative Fuel Corridor Tool FHWA, in coordination with DOE's National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), has developed a tool to aid State and local officials in analyzing alternative fuel corridors in their State or region. The Corridor Measurement Tool was developed to measure the driving distance along Interstate highways between stations against the criteria for the various fuels included under FHWA's Alternative fuels Corridor Program, interactive maps to explore potential new corridors by fuel, as well as national and state alternative fuel station information in a range of data formats.
CMAQ Emissions Calculator Toolkit The Federal Highway Administration's Office of Natural Environment developed a series of tools to provide technical support and resources for the implementation of the Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality Improvement (CMAQ) Program. An emissions calculator toolkit for alternative fuels and vehicles was recently added. This tool provides estimates of emission reductions for CMAQ-funded projects where users are purchasing alternative fuel vehicles to replace a conventional fuel fleet or developing new alternative fuel infrastructure with restricted or unrestricted access.
