3. Using the CMAQ System: Introduction to the main views, Help
After logging into UPACS, the main screen for the CMAQ System will appear. The menu along the top of the screen facilitates easy access to the five processes.
Clicking on the Entry tab produces an additional line with options to Enter a New Project, Enter Subsequent Project, and Edit Existing Project.

Utilities allows the user to Upload Project Information for multiple projects at once. Then Send to the Database is used to import the projects into the CMAQ system. Uploading projects requires special formatting and is addressed in chapter 7 as well as the appendices.
Using the Search page, the user can locate projects according to a variety of search criteria including State, year, approval status, etc.
The Reports tab is a gateway to 15 different reports that summarize the data for easy review.
The Approval tab allows users with approval rights to approve projects for their organization and notify the next highest level that projects are ready for review. (Note: Users who do not have approval rights will not see the Approval tab.)
"Help" features
Clicking on the Help icon located to the right of the screen takes you to a Help page. The screenshot below is of the CMAQ Help System main page. Each of the five tabs has a help screen associated with it that summarizes the relevant functions, defines the fields and explains how to use the system.
