The Arizona Department of Transportation Kingman District completed highway widening and safety improvements on the Joshua Forest Parkway (U.S. 93) while maintaining the natural beauty and environmental integrity of this designated scenic byway.

As part of the widening and reconstruction of Brighton-Henrietta Town Line Road in Monroe County, New York, multi-agency teams cooperated with local residents to design and create two retention ponds with innovative outfall structures to improve water quality, enhance a degraded wetland, and minimize the impacts of stormwater runoff on a nearby stream system.

Texas Department of Transportation

The Texas Department of Transportation, in cooperation with a Mitigation Banking Review Team composed of State and regulatory agencies, has developed a pre-approved wetland mitigation banking program as a cost-effective and environmentally beneficial alternative to traditional transportation project mitigation.

During construction of safety improvements on a portion of Route 206 in Morris County, the New Jersey Department of Transportation worked with the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, a private contractor, and volunteers to relocate a 200-foot stretch of Flanders Brook without permanently impairing the habitat quality and overall integrity of this highly sensitive trout stream.
