Mr. Evink has served the Florida Department of Transportation for twenty-five years. Throughout this tenure he has gained trust, respect, and clear commitment from his staff and peers as he created and led initiatives to enhance the environment and integrate environmental considerations into the culture of his organization. With his leadership, creativity, commitment, training, and support in a broad range of environmental areas, he is a recognized leader at the State, national, and international level. During his career he has developed educational materials and literature, promoted and implemented new programs, and achieved unparalleled success in balancing the needs of the environment with those of transportation. This award recognizes his distinguished career of leadership as the Ecological Resources Administrator of the Florida Department of Transportation's Environmental Management Office.
