The fifth annual Photo Opportunity competition ended on November 1, 1998. The 141 entries from 16 States were judged in December.

The rewards for first place winners---Texas, Nebraska, Idaho, and West Virginia---begin with a full page article with winning photo in the spring full-color issue of Greener Roadsides newsletter. A congratulatory letter from Administrator Wykle was sent to the Directors of the winning State organizations. A framed sheet of collectable wildflower stamps was presented by each State Division Office to the winning State Highway Agency this spring.

The late fall deadline of November 5, 1999 allows for spring, summer, or fall picture-taking or planning in advance. Some of you, I know, carry your cameras with you at all times. Scheduling your official photographer can be of help to you and a good teaming experience for her or him.
