Workshop Description: From Spooner Lake State Park, you will hike the Marlette Lake Trail to beautiful Marlette Lake, a total of 10 miles round-trip. A beautiful view awaits you; stop at Rocky Point for a picnic lunch before heading back. For those wanting a bit more adventure, continue around Marlette Lake to the famous "Flume Trail" and hike out 1/2 mile to overlook Lake Tahoe before turning around and retracing your steps back. This would add 3 more miles to your total hike.
Less hardy souls, can choose to hike around Spooner Lake, an easy 2 1/2 mile trip through aspen groves and riparian wetlands.
Preparedness: You will need good hiking shoes and clothing, including gear for variable weather conditions. A small backpack to carry clothes, water, and snacks is strongly recommended. Don't forget the sunscreen and camera! Lunch will not be provided, but there is a snack area at Spooner to purchase trail food items.
