James Young is the Deputy Director of the Division of Engineering for the Ohio DOT. The offices under his purview include: CADD/Mapping Services, Geotechnical Engineering, Consultant Services, Hydraulic Engineering, Structural Engineering, Roadway Engineering, Pavement Engineering, and Real Estate. In previous positions at ODOT, James served as a technical specialist in the Office of Roadway Engineering and the Office of Traffic Engineering performing duties relating to the planning and design of roadways. He has worked at ODOT Central Office for the past 10 years.
Prior to joining ODOT, James worked for a private company for 7 years as a project engineer and project manager on various projects. His past work experience includes roadway design, plan preparation, hydraulic design and traffic engineering. He also worked on Army Corp projects involving pump and lift stations, floodwalls and levees, and other large civil works in the Midwest. James graduated from the University of Cincinnati in 1994 majoring in Civil Engineering. James lives in Worthington, OH with his wife and two children.
