Eastern Federal Lands is currently supporting the National Park Service in its efforts to rehabilitate critical park routes utilized by visitors to Valley Forge National Historic Park. A key objective in the construction of a new 600 foot connector road is to provide a more convenient route for park-based shuttle bus tours. The majority of the 3 mile rehabilitation of Innerline Drive will have a lower vertical alignment and is about three feet wider than the existing road.

Photo of the Mather Memorial Parkway (MMP) This project incorporates many context-sensitive design (CSS) elements, such as steel-backed timber guardrails. The project returns the road to a lower elevation to enable the restoration and utilization of a dry laid stone masonry curb and gutter that had been buried for many years. In addition, the NPS is removing several superfluous parking lots and replacing the current drainage features. This $3 million project is being funded by the FLHP Park Roads and Parkways Program.
