Before you can use the GAMA's online Membership Application, you must first configure your browser for the proper mail gateway. A "browser" is a Web page viewing program, such as Netscape. A "mail gateway" is the path that the browser takes to submit data via e-mail, such as the Membership Application data. Follow the steps below to adjust your browser's settings for the proper e-mail gateway.
Note: If you have any questions about this procedure, please contact your local office network administrator or LAN manager.
Select "Options" from the Menu at the top of your Netscape browser. Drag the mouse down to "Mail and News Preferences" and click the LEFT mouse button.
Select the "Servers" menu tab. If you are accessing GAMA's website through an office of DOT or one of its agencies (either headquarters or field), enter relay.dot.gov (circled in red) on the line entitled "Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server." All other information should be left as is.If you are accessing GAMA from outside of DOT, contact your Internet Service Provider for the correct Outgoing Mail address.
After setting these preferences, exit Netscape like you normally would and restart it again. Your new settings should take effect and you should be able to register your membership with the Garrett A. Morgan Association right online. But if you should encounter any difficulty please send e-mail to Betty Warren for answers to your questions.
