Section 5: Visitor Experience

Is Your Byway Ready for Travelers?

In this section, you will need to convey information about how prepared your byway is to have visitors. Reviewers will use the information you present in this section to assess whether byway leaders have anticipated the responsibility of supporting designation as one of America's Byways®.

Nominated byways must demonstrate that they are ready for travelers the day designations are announced by the U.S. Secretary of Transportation. Information will be posted to the traveler website. At this time, byway coordinators, leaders and media contacts will begin to receive inquiries and requests for information. Your byway communities and service providers should be ready to promote the resources of the corridor and share the story of the byway's Intrinsic Quality(s). You will be asked to substantiate your readiness for visitors in this section of the application.
