Getting Started
The "Getting Started" phase of Highways for LIFE (HfL) was launched at the Annual Meetings of FHWA and the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) in September 2004. The "Getting Started" phase pursues the HfL goals of improved safety, reduced construction congestion, and improved quality. Getting Started will focus on accelerating the adoption of a few technologies or innovations and broadening awareness and understanding of the leadership opportunities, benefits and value of the HfL approach to construction by publicizing the many successes that have already been achieved.
