Responsible for the stewardship and oversight of the federal-aid highway Civil Rights programs in Illinois to ensure compliance with, and enforcement of non-discrimination, equal employment and equal opportunity regulations, policies, executive orders and laws.

Stewardship and oversight are primarily accomplished through close cooperation with the Illinois Department of Transportation by providing technical assistance and guidance, conducting reviews, and delivering training.
