Bridge Management Process

The Pontis Bridge Management Process starts with the building of a relational database that includes importing NBI data and adding element-level inspection information. The process continues with development of a preservation policy for each element and environment combination in the database. A network analysis is performed to identify needs and benefits, and to support the allocation of resources for development of specific preservation and improvement program recommendations. From these recommendations, engineers and managers use the Project Planning module to identify an initial program of work. The Pontis Bridge Management process also includes tools for refining results, incorporating agency business practices, and allowing project tracking through the database.
