In Pontis, the Gateway module provides data import and export functionality. The system produces or uses text files of specific formats to allow exporting data to the Federal Highway Administration or to other Pontis databases.

In this lesson, you will learn to export data from the Pontis database.

1. In the Gateway module, scroll to and select bridge ID 1007P000.
2. Click Export.
3. In the Export Data window, from the Export What? drop-down list, select PONTIS DATA INTERCHANGE FILE.
4. To select the Output File, click Browse. The Select PDI File window will open in the Pontis default OUT directory.
5. Enter 1007P000 for the file name and then click Save.
6. From the Include drop-down list, select <02> Bridge Inspection Data.
7. Under Export Which Bridges? select the Only Bridges Selected on Desktop radio button.
8. Click Export.
9. In the confirmation window, click Yes to export the bridge, and then wait for the computation screen.
10. In the confirmation window, click OK.
11. Click Cancel to close the Export Data window.
