Improvement analysis requires a set of improvement costs, including unit costs for widening, raising, and strengthening or replacement of the structure. Multiple cost sets can be created and accessed through the Programming module.
In this lesson, you will learn how to modify improvement costs.
Modify Improvement Costs
Start by navigating to the programming module.
From the drop-down list, choose Default Scenario.
Click Costs. The User and Agency Cost Variable Settings screen appears. The cost and benefit assumptions associated with the default scenario are shown.
Click Model Info to define a new cost set. The Existing Cost Sets screen will appear.
Click New Copy at the bottom of the window.
Enter the name Training Sample for the new cost set.
Click Save, then click Close.
Click the lower X at the upper right corner of the new screen to close the cost settings screen.
From the Cost drop-down list, select Training Sample.
Click Costs. The User and Agency Cost Variable Settings screen appears.
Click the Pencil Icon so that it reads Edit On.
Enter cost assumptions in dollars per square meter for South District, Functional Class 02 as follows. Press <Tab> after data entry to go to the next field. Use the following values:
For Replace, enter 2,300.
For Widening, enter 800.
For Raise, enter 400.
For Strengthen, enter 300.
For all others, leave as is.
Click Save.
Click the lower X at the upper right corner of the new screen to close the cost settings screen.
Tip:
You can use the Copy button to copy costs for the current row to all other rows on the tab card. You will be asked if you want to proceed, click YES.
