
This section features unique P3 approaches that do not necessarily correspond to the different categories identified in the P3s Defined page. While these projects are a result of unique circumstances, together they demonstrate the breadth and variety of ways in which the public and private sectors can collaborate to meet mobility needs.
New Mexico SR 44
New Mexico state law did not
permit design-build procurement at the time NM 44 was
constructed. However, the New Mexico State Highway and
Transportation department was able to replicate many
of the efficiencies of the design-build model through
the use of an innovative professional services contract.
