Urban Transport Pricing in Europe
Developed in 2006, this website provides links to various transportation pricing projects and programs funded by the European Commission. Many of these projects explore technical, financial, operational, political, and social issues associated with implementing road pricing projects.

Roadmap to a Single European Transport Area - Towards a competitive and resource efficient transport system
In 2011, the European Commission adopted a roadmap of 40 initiatives to build a competitive transport system over the next decade that will increase mobility, remove major barriers in key areas and fuel growth and employment. At the same time, it is anticipated that Europe's dependence on imported oil will be dramatically reduced in addition to transport-related carbon emissions. Key goals to achieve by 2050 include 40% use of sustainable low carbon fuels in aviation, at least a 40% reduction in shipping emissions, a 50% shift of medium distance intercity passenger and freight journeys from road to rail and waterborne transport, and no more conventionally-fueled cars in European cities - all of which will contribute to a 60% cut in transport-related emissions by mid-century.
