  1. What is the purpose of this change? This change documents the current order of succession to the position of Federal Highway Administrator.

  2. Which part of FHWA Order M 1100.1A is being updated? This Order makes changes to Part I (Delegations of Authority), Chapter 2 (Order of Succession).

  3. What changes are included in this Order? Paragraphs 2a, 4a, and 5a of Chapter 2 are revised to add the new position title of Associate Administrator (formerly Program Manager and Director) for a number of FHWA officials designated to succeed to the position of Federal Highway Administrator. The order of succession is also updated to delete the discontinued position of Director of Field Services-Midwest, consistent with the recent realignment of responsibilities among Directors of Field Services. In addition, reference to the Operations CBU in paragraph 5a is changed to read Office of Operations.
