Where can I obtain additional information concerning these changes?
What is the purpose of this change? As part of a continuing effort to improve FHWA’s ability to better serve the needs of our partners and customers, the FHWA has realigned its resource center organization. The mission, functions, and locations of the resource center organization remain the same, however, the four resource centers are now structured and functioning as a single Resource Center. The Resource Center has 10 virtual Technical Service Teams (TST) that are each headed by a Team Leader and are comprised of national technical specialists. While each of the Resource Center’s locations has two to three TST’s assigned as shown below, a presence of each discipline is maintained in each of the locations. The locations and names of the TST’s are as follows:
a. Atlanta, Georgia (Construction and Project Management/Finance/Pavement and Materials);
b.Baltimore, Maryland (Geotech and Hydraulics/Structures);
c.Olympia Fields, Illinois (Operations/Safety and Highway Design); and
d.San Francisco, California (Air Quality/Environment/Planning).
Which parts of FHWA Order M 1100.1A are being updated? The Introduction and Part II (Organization and Functions), Chapter 1 (General) [organization chart only], and Chapter 16 (now titled "Resource Center and Federal-aid Division Offices"), are revised.
