Order
Subject
FHWA PERSONNEL MANAGEMENT MANUAL Transmittal 25
Classification Code Date Office of Primary Interest
M3000.1C November 1, 2005 HAHR-10

  1. What is the purpose of this transmittal?  This transmittal revises Part 1, Chapter 2, Section 6 (Probationary Period for Newly Appointed Managers and Supervisors) of the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) Personnel Management Manual (PMM).

  2. What are the changes?  This PMM section has been revised to add information on the steps FHWA managers should take during the probationary period to ensure the success of new supervisors and managers.  The revised section adds information on how service is credited toward completion of the probationary period.  These changes also provide support for strengthening the performance culture within the FHWA.  In addition, this section has been changed to Section 5 due to the earlier elimination of one section of this chapter.
