Low-Carbon Transportation Materials Grants Program Outreach
Outreach will target eligible recipients as well as industry, academia, and consultants that will provide data and other support for the program. The FHWA is currently conducting outreach to industry organizations to identify data for determining whether the material meets the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s definition of substantially lower carbon material. Existing FHWA programs such as the Every Day Counts (EDC-7) Innovation on Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) for Sustainable Project Delivery, FHWA Climate Challenge, and the Mobile Asphalt and Concrete Technology Centers may be leveraged as part of the outreach activities.
