ETG will in particular focus on final recommendations of NCHRP 9-14 to delete the Restricted Zone, 9-16 efforts using the SGC to identify mix performance, 9-19.
  Update on Subcommittee on Materials Harvey/Tahir
Discussion and general overview of the SOM process. Brief on status of current changes to specification balloted by SOM, status of ETG recommendations, and activities at August SOM meeting.
  Report of Binder ETG Activities/Issues D'Angelo
The Binder ETG Secretary, John D'Angelo will brief on the activities of the Binder ETG.

  SGC Comparisons and Calibration Task Force Huber/Harman
Brief on status of Task Force and FHWA evaluation of an internal angle measuring device and activities to develop an appropriate procedure to address concerns over dissimilar specimens produced by different gyratory compactor.

At the previous meeting a Task Force on Standards Review was asked to review T209 and compile recommendations for changes based on recent ASTM changes and simplifications.
  Field Mixture Verification D'Angelo
Discussion of recommended practice for field mix verification and possible referral to AASHTO.
  Aggregate Gradation Optimization Huber
Follow-up from last meeting's discussion of the Bailey Method, participants experience using the method and final recommendations for procedure/guideline by the ETG.
  4.75 mm "Superpave" Mixture Michael
Discussion and review of recommendation for changes to MP2 to incorporate a 4.75 mm nominal size mixture including results of NCAT recent activities.

Working with FHWA, the Asphalt Institute and a team of consultants has developed a moisture test to identify one potential mix tenderness problem. Currently, field evaluations are being conducted.
  Mixture Performance Testing Using the DSR Reinke
Briefing on the work being performed at Mathy Construction that shows promises as an innovative method to evaluate mixture performance characteristics.

Status of Projects 90-07 & 90-09 Harman

The role of these teams is to review and comment on the scope of work of the designated FHWA (NCHRP funded) projects, provide technical input for FHWA consideration, coordinate presentation of deliverables to the ETG for deliberation and make recommendations to the ETG for any necessary action.
  Superpave 2005 - Long Range Plan Ferragut
Update of current long-range plan developed as a requirement of AASHTO resolution AR-5-98 and future research topics.
