Chapter 5 - Running the Analysis

Objective: To perform the PHT Analysis using settings from previous exercise.

Specifics: Use the PHT analysis run wizard to select the highway data, parameter analysis and historical data to conduct the PHT analysis and view the results.

Use: The PHT analysis is a complex process that uses many inputs. The run wizard makes it simple for the user to select the input data and parameters and conduct the analysis.

Tasks:

  1. Review components of the analysis run
  2. Conduct the PHT analysis
  3. View the analysis results.

Two screen shots show progressive stages in a study command. In the first screen shot, the button icon for analysis command is highlighted by the number 1, indicating that this will launch the Run PHT Analysis. In the second screen shot the Run PHT Analysis is shown, with the field for the analysis name highlighted by the number 2, indicating that a name is to be input here. The fields for PHT Database and PHT Database Parameters are highlighted by the number 3, indicating which options are to be run. Select the highway data and analysis parameters to be used in the analysis. Note: Only Route 35 highway sections are selected. (Chapter 3)Under Historical Data, items under the column Field are highlighted by the number 4, indicating additional options for the analysis. Optional; Select historical sets of highway data to be used for the calibration of the analysis. You may choose up to five reference years; the years do not need to be contiguous. The button icon for run command is highlighted by the number 5, indicating that this will run the analysis. (Click Run)

Three screen shots show progressive stages of an analysis. In the first screen shot, a text box with the title Output provides information on the progress of the analysis run. In the second screen shot, a Progress Status window shows progress by a thermometer type indicator. In the third screen shot, the Pavement Health Track window indicates the total number of records analyzed. (Click OK) The button icon for ok command is highlighted by the number 5a, indicating that this command completes the analysis run. After the analysis is complete the analysis results along with all of the original highway data and parameter metrics are displayed in the results tree.

A screen shot shows after the analysis is complete the analysis results along with all of the original highway data and parameter metrics are displayed in the results tree.

Two screen shots show progressive stages of an analysis. In the first screen shot, a database file is selected and the button con for the open file command is highlighted by the number 6, indicating that this operation will display the data and analysis results. In the second screen shot, a data table with several columns and rows is displayed. Highlighting indicates that the original data are provided on the left half of the table and PHT analysis results are provided on the right half of the table.
