Strategic Objective 2: Improvement of Materials Characterization

The following boxes are Analysis Outcomes for Objective 2. To see specific analysis projects for each Outcome, click on the corresponding box.

Blue box: A. Relative importance of different material characteristics in predicting pavement performance. VH1 (Very high priority, number 1 in sequence).

Blue box: B. Relationships to enable interchangeable use of laboratory and field-derived material parameters. VH1 (Very high priority, number 1 in sequence).

Green Box: C. Relationship between as-designed and as-built material characteristics. H1 (High priority, number 1 in sequence).

Green Box: D. Performance impact of different levels of material variability and quality. H1 (High priority, number 1 in sequence).

Blue Box: E. Estimate material design parameters from other materials data (for example, Resilient Modulus from gradation and density). H1 (High priority, number 1 in sequence).

Green Box: F. Improved Deflection-Based analysis Methods for Materials Characterization. H1 (High priority, number 1 in sequence).

Green Box: G. Combination of all results under this Objective to provide a unified set of tools/guidelines for characterizing pavement materials/soils for pavement design and construction. H1 (High priority, number 1 in sequence).

Priorities

Critical = color-coded red box for critical priority
Very High = color-coded blue box for very high priority
High = color-coded green box for high priority
Sequence = number-coded boxes 1, 2, or 3 in sequence

Note: Sequence numbers denote the order in which Analysis Outcomes should be addressed for a given Objective. Analysis Outcomes with the same sequence number can be addressed at the same time.
