Overall, the request for grants in FY99 included:

  • totaled more than $2.2 Billion
  • 140 applications for single state projects
  • 11 applications for multi-state projects
Allocations for grants in FY99:
  • will be allocated to 32 States for 55 projects
  • total $123,603,000 (just $17,000 less than the entire amount available)
  • will fund all 11 applications for multi-state projects; although at less than total requested
  • will fund 44 applications for siingle state projects, although at less than total requested
