"The ACE project will relieve traffic congestion in the San Gabriel Valley caused by longer and more frequent freight trains traveling from the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach through the Alameda Corridor into Los Angeles. Studies show that without the ACE improvements, traffic congestion at rail crossings will increase by 300%. The ACE project will improve safety around rail crossings, increase traffic mobility, reduce air pollution, and enable the continued economic expansion in the San Gabriel Valley."

Harry Baldwin, Chair, Alameda Corridor-East
"The Alameda Corridor-East project is my top trade infrastructure priority in Congress and is vital to the continuing success of our region as a global gateway. California is the gateway to the fast-growing regions of Latin America and the Pacific Rim, and the Alameda Corridor is the new millennium equivalent of the ancient trade route known as the Silk Road that tied civilizations together in commerce."

"The San Gabriel Valley has united behind the ACE project, and I am proud to serve as a vigorous advocate in Washington, D.C. on behalf of this regional priority. Easing the flow of trade will not only boost our economy and standard of living but will also help reduce tragic accidents, congestion and air pollution at these potential chokepoints. We must build the ACE improvements now, before the increased cargo traffic threatens to overwhelm our infrastructure."
