These lines in these tables are "partially invalid"-- some PART of the category combination is not logically possible in the dataset. This occurs mainly in crosstabs of Means of Transportation (4), category 4, which combines 'worked at home' with other modes of transportation.
These data lines will usually get a value, but the data come from only the valid cases of the category. There is also a subtle difference in partially invalid lines between tally tables and aggregate tables.
7/09/2010. Due to potential confusion about partially invalid lines when switching dimensions and/or comparing tally and aggregate table dimensions, we have recommended that cell notes NOT be shown for the partially invalid lines in the CTPP data access software. Which records contribute to the data value should be clear to the user from the category stubs, the universe, and the statistic being shown.
