2000-2010: Changes in Transit, Walk and Bike Commute Shares

Text version North East Map of Highest Walk Share increases between the Year of 2000 and 2006-2010

A regional walk share map for the Northeastern United States east of Michigan and north of North Carolina. This map, similar to map #5, is showing counties with highest walk share increases between the year 2000 and years 2006-2010. CTPP2000 walk share, ACS2006-2010 walk share and percent share change are displayed. Among top 30 counties for walk mode share percentage, 16 counties are located in the Northeast region and are on this map.

As seen in the regional map, the walk share for Ingham County, Michigan, shows a walk share in 2000 of 5.2%, which increases in 2006-2010 ACS data to 6.2%, an increment of 1.0%. The walk share for Erie County, Ohio, shows a walk share in 2000 of 1.5%, which increases in 2006-2010 ACS data to 2.9%, an increment of 1.4%. The walk share for Crawford County, Pennsylvania, shows a walk share in 2000 of 5.4%, which increases in 2006-2010 ACS data to 7.0%, an increment of 1.6%. The walk share for Oswego County, New York, shows a walk share in 2000 of 3.7%, which increases in 2006-2010 ACS data to 4.8%, an increment of 1.1%. The walk share for Otsego County, New York, shows a walk share in 2000 of 6.8%, which increases in 2006-2010 ACS data to 8.7%, an increment of 1.9%. The walk share for Chittenden County, Vermont, shows a walk share in 2000 of 6.5%, which increases in 2006-2010 ACS data to 8.5%, an increment of 2.0%. The walk share for Cheshire County, New Hampshire, shows a walk share in 2000 of 4.3%, which increases in 2006-2010 ACS data to 6.0%, an increment of 1.7%. The walk share for Suffolk County, Massachusetts, shows a walk share in 2000 of 11.8%, which increases in 2006-2010 ACS data to 13.5%, an increment of 1.7%. The walk share for Newport County, Rhode Island, shows a walk share in 2000 of 5.2%, which increases in 2006-2010 ACS data to 6.6%, an increment of 1.4%. The walk share for Fairfield County, Connecticut, shows a walk share in 2000 of 2.3%, which increases in 2006-2010 ACS data to 3.3%, an increment of 1.0%. The walk share for Cape May County, New Jersey, shows a walk share in 2000 of 4.3%, which increases in 2006-2010 ACS data to 5.8%, an increment of 1.5%. The walk share for Raleigh County, West Virginia, shows a walk share in 2000 of 1.9%, which increases in 2006-2010 ACS data to 3.0%, an increment of 1.1%. The walk share for Mercer County, West Virginia, shows a walk share in 2000 of 1.6%, which increases in 2006-2010 ACS data to 3.1%, an increment of 1.5%. The walk share for Washington County, Virginia, shows a walk share in 2000 of 1.4%, which increases in 2006-2010 ACS data to 2.5%, an increment of 1.1%. The walk share for York County, Virginia, shows a walk share in 2000 of 1.5%, which increases in 2006-2010 ACS data to 4.5%, an increment of 3.0%. The walk share for Newport News City, Virginia, shows a walk share in 2000 of 2.6%, which increases in 2006-2010 ACS data to 5.4%, an increment of 2.8%.
