The FAST Project Development Timeline

Fall
2001
The first FAST Corridor project -Port of Tacoma Road, Tacoma, WA- was completed in the fall of 2001
August
2002
The second FAST Corridor project-3rd Street SW Grade Separation, Auburn, WA - was completed in August 2002
October
2002

The third FAST Corridor project-South 277th Street, Auburn and Kent, WA - was completed in October 2002

May
2003
The next FAST Corridor project-California Street Over-crossing in Everett, WA - to be completed, with ribbon-cutting ceremony expected in May 27, 2003.
Summer 2003 South 180th Street project in Tukwila, WA, is scheduled to be complete this summer. It will increase the safety and capacity of both rail and roadway corridors.
Fall
2003
The 8th Street East project in Pierce County, WA, will be completed this fall. It is constructing a new four-lane overpass over the Burlington Northern/Santa Fe railroad and a highway to reduce conflicts between rail and roadway traffic. It also complements $30 million in local improvements to help create a major east-west corridor.
2004 A FAST project that is under construction and will be built in two phases: phase 1 is scheduled for completion in 2004. The project will improve access to the Port of Seattle and Seattle's waterfront, including ferry terminals, and industrial area.
