In order to support the TMIP mission and goals, the program has created a successful Web Knowledge and Information Exchange (WKIE). The WKIE includes web-delivered seminars ("webinars") on current topics of interest to the transportation modeling, simulation and analysis community. The WKIE is comprised of both one-day webinars and multi-day webinar series for more complex topics such as Land Use and Activity-Based Modeling that were delivered as eight and twelve part sessions respectively.
TMIP records all sponsored webinars and makes the content available to users in the Recorded Webinar section of the TMIP Online Community of Practice (TMIP|COP). An audio-video recording of the webinar can be viewed and presentation materials used during the session as well as questions and answers discussed after the session among the participants and instructors are available for download. There are currently more than 50 recorded webinars on many different topics related to transportation planning which range from one to two and a half hours in length.
TMIP seeks to use the WKIE to host and moderate webinar sessions for the users community that will be of value to transportation modeling, simulation and analysis professionals. If you have a webinar topic you'd like to suggest for consideration by TMIP or if you have webinar materials prepared and would like to present these through the TMIP service please contact Sarah Sun.
