The third activity-based webinar session entitled Management-Technical Perspective will describe the processes used to develop activity-based models: estimation, calibration, validation and implementation. In doing so, we will discuss how these processes differ from trip-based model development in terms of model components, data requirements, and software. In the second half of this session, we will discuss some of the criteria that agencies might want to consider when deciding whether an activity-based modeling system is right for them; if an activity-based modeling system is adopted, what high-level system design decisions need to be made; and, as an alternative, transitional paths towards model development.
