The CHCNGA-TPO is the federally designated Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) for Hamilton County in Tennessee and the northern portions of Dade, Walker, and Catoosa Counties in Georgia. Its purpose is to carry out the metropolitan transportation planning activities for these areas. The CHCNGA-TPO is managed by the Chattanooga-Hamilton County Regional Planning Agency and produces three main products: the Unified Planning Work Program, the Long Range Transportation Plan, and the Transportation Improvement Program. The CHCNGA-TPO also evaluates traffic congestion, air quality, mobility, and alternative transportation modes.
