Small Urban Areas Pavement Condition by Functional System, 2000
Exhibit 3-19 is a bar graph that shows pavement conditions in small urban areas by functional system in 2000. The vertical axis has five functional classes with five bars each. The horizontal axis measures percentages from 0 to 60 in increments of 10 percent. In the first group of bars, for small urban interstates, 4.3 percent were rated poor, 15.8 percent were rated mediocre, 18.4 percent were rated fair, 39.7 percent were rated good, and 21.9 percent were rated very good. In the second group of bars, for other small urban freeways and expressways, 1.2 percent were rated poor, 5.1 percent were rated mediocre, 49.9 percent were rated fair, 38.1 percent were rated good, and 5.7 percent were rated very good. In the third group of bars, for other small urban principal arterials, 6.2 percent were rated poor, 10.8 percent were rated mediocre, 46.3 percent were rated fair, 27.1 percent were rated good, and 9.5 percent were rated very good. In the fourth group of bars, for small urban minor arterials, 6.1 percent were rated poor, 13.9 percent were rated mediocre, 41.1 percent were rated fair, 19.8 percent were rated good, and 19.0 percent were rated very good. And in the fifth group of bars, for small urban collectors, 8.7 percent were rated poor, 22.5 percent were rated mediocre, 38.2 percent were rated fair, 10.4 percent were rated good, and 20.3 percent were rated very good.
