Exhibit 4-7:
Annual Hours of Traveler Delay by Urbanized Area Size, 1987 vs 2000
Exhibit 4-7 is a bar graph that shows the annual hours of traveler delay by urbanized area size in 1987 and 2000. The vertical axis measures hours from 0 to 45 in increments of 5 percent. The horizontal axis has four bars, one for each population category. In the first bar, for urban populations of less than 500,000, the annual hours of traveler delay were 4.8 for 1987 and 15.2 for 2000. In the second bar, for urban populations between 500,000 and 1 million, the annual hours of traveler delay were 8.9 for 1987 and 25.3 for 2000. In the third bar, for urban populations between 1 and 3 million, the annual hours of traveler delay were 15.7 for 1987 and 36.4 for 2000. And in the fourth bar, for urban populations of more than 3 million, the annual hours of traveler delay were 26.4 for 1987 and 41.3 for 2000.
