1/ This table is one of a series providing an analysis of motor-fuel consumption. A complete and uniform classification of nonhigh- way use is not possible due to differences among the States as to what classes of nonhighway use are eligible for exemptions or refunds and because some eligible refunds are not applied for. In order to make the data uniform and complete, nonhighway uses of gasoline were estimated by the Federal Highway Administration or data were obtained from other sources. These estimates may not be comparable to data for prior years due to revised estimation procedures. All data are subject to review and revision. Figures in bold type are State-reported data.

2/ Excludes aviation jet fuel.

3/ An amount is shown in this column only when reported by the State and when it could be determined that the State- reported figure did not include fuel represented in other categories.
